My weekend started with a BANG and ended with Balls... It was semi-amazing slash going to the gym yesterday, after three nights of booze, was the hardest thing I've done in ages. I actually saw Dee at the gym and was telling her how I was so hungover . Her trainer overhead the conversation and seemed aghast at my alcohol intake.. Oopsie Daisy.
So Friday was Lala's birthday dinner at Public... 24 people, 10 smoke breaks (not me, but everyone else), 14 renditions of Happy Birthday, 2 breaks for the pot and a zillion cocktails later, I stumbled home.
Saturday, I woke up feeling good in the neighborhood. This euphoria immediately went away as soon as I went to the gym... That is when I realized I did not do my body any good the night before... However, I had Twix's birthday and M&A's engagement soiree (ie: I had no time to feel sorry for myself)..
So, once again, I curled my hair, put on the fake lashes and went out for some fun. A few margarita's too many, some fried delights and watching everyone ride the bull at Mason Dixon, I went to Bobo for the engagement fete... I came just in time to find Nacho's jacket (which Shu-bird lost) and to get some good gossip for Metts.. And for the second night in a row I went home prematurely and overserved...
Sunday I slept in and popped out of bed, showered and was ready for THE KINGS SPEECH with GDubbs.. Actually, that's a lie. I was starving and I wanted to eat but GDubbs was already downstairs freezing his arse off waiting for me so I went to the cinema on an empty stomach...
After falling in love with Colin Firth all over again in THE KINGS SPEECH, I demanded that GDubbs feed me so we went to my new favorite place, Jeffrey's Grocery in the West Village. A glass of wine, champagne, oyster's, NE clamchowder and half of a sandgano later, ts I went over to Kage and Popo's for 2nd meal of the day with the G's and Indiana and BALLS..
I seriously don't think I've laughed that hard in a long time. Kage, thank you for not only inviting me but making me guilty when I was on the cusp of flaking... I will never be able to say "Balls" again without thinking of that dinner.

Monday.... Lala made the most amazing Lentil and Mushroom risotto.. Actually, I'm not sure you can even it call it risotto as she substituted the arborio for lentils.. All I know is that when she first suggested it, I was sorta thinking, "this is NOT going to cure my three day hangover"... As soon as I took the first bite and smelled the white truffle oil, I was sold.... HEAVEN!
