GFJ (323-326) Am I at the age where people simply get married cause they have nothing better to do?

The other night I found out that a friend, "T" got married. I haven't been to the Upper East Side in awhile so I had no idea that she was engaged. She and I are more of the "drunk Facebook type friend" than a "let's have dinner" friend.  In fact, the last time I saw her, she was bombed at Phoenix Park and cornered me about the fact that she didn't want to move in with her boyfriend let alone marry him. That he was NOT the one.

Obviously I was SHOCKED when I was gassing on the phone with a friend and she told me that she was running out to get a wedding present for "T".

Now, I have to wonder, if  "T" drunkenly admitted to me that the guy she had been dating since 'Nam wasn't "the one", why the eff did they get married? Is it possible she got tired of paying her own credit card bills (she has a shopping problem and her new husband is dead wealthy) and had nothing better to do so she decided to get hitched? Is that what people are doing these days?
