GFJ (289-290) I think San Francisco may have won Le Grand Fooding....

On Thursday Night I had dinner with Church and Dumb B*tch at DBGB....I said I wasn't going to drink but I can't be with these two and NOT have a martini... Somehow, I held strong with just one drink... until we went to Madame Geneva and I threw back two of their homemade preserve with vodkas... Bad news bears.

BREAKFAST: Gluten Free Oatmeal
LUNCH: Leftover Tofu and Veggies
DINNER: Church, Dumb B*tch and I split the BEAUJOLAISE sausage and French Fries at DBGB. Then I pretended to be healthy and had the Salmon... It was phenom.

Friday Night was all about Le Grand Fooding NYC. GDubbs, The Burrito Sisters, San Rafael and myself trekked over to Brooklyn for a "little" food competition between San Francisco chefs v NYC chefs.... I'm not going to lie, it was a wee bit of a sh*tshow. Not only did we have to wait in line for an hour to get in... but, once inside IT WAS ONE BIG LINE... There were many things we wanted to try and couldn't because the lines were too long. It was disorganized yet exciting all at the same time. I felt like I was in a Top Chef competition.

Robert Newton, chef from Seersucker in Brooklyn, had a Fried Chicken that I was lusting over until I heard the line was redonkey kong and some of the Fried Chicken was raw.

The Pickle Salad New Yorkese by the chefs from NYC's Torrisi wasn't even feasible unless we wanted to lose life years in line. It should be noted that Jake Gyllenhaal did NOT have to wait in the lines. He, his scruffy beard and Northface backpack went straight up to chefs Mario Carbone and Rich Torrisi and got his bite.

I have to say that Jeremy Fox, from Plum in Oakland had a FAIL with his Vegetables on a Plate.. He redeemed himself with his Lavender Maracona nuts.

Dave Chang, who held court on the upper level of the competition, served up a yummy Beets, Goat Cheese and Walnuts dish.

James Shyabout from Commis in Oakland, made me lose my mind with his Scallops with Smoked Stone Fruit Emulsion....

And I just about had an orgasm  when I had Charlie Halllowell, from Pizzaiolo in Oakland's, Grilled Octopus Pizza... straight out of the wood-burning oven.... AND Lauren Jossels, from Nopa in SF's, Wood-Grilled Prok Ribeye with Smoked Tomato Jam....

So, San Francisco totes won out. I guess this means I need to move there.

BREAKFAST: Fage Yogurt
LUNCH: Gluten Free Lasagna
DINNER: Le Grand Fooding

Le Grand Fooding, LuLu Frost and a little bit of KAGE on the subway....

Veuve Clicquot.... After waiting an hour in line to get in, all we wanted was a flute of champagne.
