GFJ (267-270) From Liver Cleanse to Food Fest U.S.A.

These past few days have been filled with lots of family, food, tears and memories of my Uncle K. I have more to write about him later. I just want to give it proper thought and respect....

Saturday - Liver Cleanse or BUST... A normal person would hear of a family member's death and make arrangements for the funeral and pack.. Me, I make arrangements, pack and do a liver cleanse. Why? Cause I knew I was going to see my Korean mom and her super Judge Judy family and I didn't want to have a bloated face... HOW SICK AND WRONG IS THAT?

BREAKFAST: BULLDOZER bananas, organic peanut butter, vanilla soy milk, & chocolate whey protein.

LUNCH: Nothing

DINNER: Nothing...

Sunday- This was the best liver cleanse I've ever done. I felt like an entirely different person when I woke up and, hand-to-god, I'm certain it's the reason I didn't fall apart at the funeral. Now, don't get me wrong, I cried like a banshee but, I wasn't a puddle.

BREAKFAST: Hummus and Lentil Chips (okay, it was the only thing we had in the apartment and I was hungry from the Liver Cleanse.)

SNACK: Cupcake Cafe Small Maple Walnut Cupcake.

LUNCH: A feast of salads at The City Bakery.

DINNER: It was a blur. Some soups, some Korean food, just lots of stuff.

SNACK: Asiago Bagel and a Fresca Vodka...

Monday -What is it about funerals that make you eat? Or maybe that's just my family? From the moment I woke up until I went to bed, I ate. The only time I didn't was when I was driving back and forth for "family pickup" from airports and train stations and the service.. All other times, I was stuffing my mug.

BREAKFAST: Two homemade Banana Bread Muffins...

LUNCH: Smoke Salmon on a toasted bagel with all the accoutrement's (pictured below).

SNACK: Kalbi (pictured below) and rice and kimchee...

DINNER: Random Korean food at the service. I'm too embarrassed to write it all down.

Tuesday- I didn't want to wake up this morning. My eyes were puffy, I was dehydrated from the Korean food, booze and tears and I felt like i hadn't slept in ages. Then, I thought about the leftover food that was at Cousin E and G's and jumped out of bed. Must do another liver cleanse this weekend. After my girls dinner this week. I'm getting on the rexic for Tahoe Chalet diet.

BREAKFAST: Homemade Breakfast Panini's and Cousin E and G's... FANTASTIC!

(Below: Organic Sourdough, Havarti, Prosciutto and Egg Panini... we also added Basil and Homegrown jalapeno's.. DELICIOUS)

LUNCH: Leftover Breakfast Panini on the train as well as a slice of cake.

DINNER: City Bakery Smorgasbord pictured below and a Maple Bacon Biscuit
